Virtuosi Pragenses Chamber orchestra Virtuosi Pragenses was established by a leading Czech violin virtuoso and conductor Libor Hlaváček in 1970. Members of this highly respected ensemble are leading Prague instrumentalists. Critics appreciate them especially for musicality, cultivated sound, and precise execution of the compositions. Besides rich domestic concert activities (including performances at the festival Prague Spring), Virtuosi Pragenses have played also at important foreign stages – Wiener Festwochen, International Music Festival Dubrovnik, Festtage Passau, International Music Festival Český Krumlov, Prague Autumn, Blaník Autumn, Czech Music Touches, Talich’s Beroun etc. This chamber orchestra has made a number of radio and television records, it cooperates with leading Czech and foreign soloists and its repertoire includes all important compositions from baroque to music of the 20th century.
