Prague Guitar Quartet Marek Velemínský Václav Kučera Jan Tuláček Patrick Vacík The Prague Guitar Quartet was established in 1984 at the Prague Conservatory. The ensemble consisting of laureates of international contests soon earned favor of audiences at home and abroad. The quartet gets invitations to important music festivals (Prague Spring, Paris, Tel Aviv, Miami etc.), it has played in most European countries, the USA, Israel, had hundreds of concerts in the Czech Republic. Its interpretation art is recorded on many records and has inspired many Czech and foreign composers to write music for this band specifically (e.g. J. W. Duarte, Š. Rak, J. Morel). Another, no less rich source of its repertoire includes the band’s own transcriptions of various style periods.
