trip planner Prague Castle Grape Harvest

Czech Vinobraní na Pražském hradě

The 12th grape harvest at Prague Castle. The programme of the event features tasting of Slovenian food and wine. Slovenia is the country, where the architect of the Prague Castle Josip Plečnik, was born. This year we mark the 165 anniversary of his birth and 60 anniversary of his death. Amongst Plečnik’s works here are, for example, the Hall of Columns (Sloupová síň), the Bull Steps, which connects the southern garden with the third courtyard, the 18 m high granite obelisk adjacent to the Cathedral of St Vitus and the presidential apartment.

Experts consider Slovenian wines as wine jewels which are yet not fully appreciated. At the event, the Slovenian folk ensemble Gozdar and some Moravian folk ensembles are going to perform and thus contribute to the festive atmosphere. Last but not least, visitors can look forward to the traditional wine tasting in the Ball Hall of the Prague Castle and a selling exhibition of Czech food products labelled with the Klasa or Regional Food quality marks.
