It was once called Zlatnická, perhaps it was the home of goldsmiths. Small houses where added into the rampart arcs of the defensive walls, behind which the peak of the ramparts rise. In 1917, Franz Kafka had his workplace in house no. 22, and writers and poets gathered in house no. 12. At present, there are original shops, galleries and expositions here, especially interesting for tourists.
