Erected at the end of the 15th century as a part of new fortification, which was designed by Benedikt Ried. The tower was the most massive of gun towers. In the 16th century, the bell maker, iron master Tomáš Jaroš lived in it. During the time of Rudolph II, an alchemist workshop was here, subsequently a gunpowder stock. Until the 20th century, sacristans of St. Vit Cathedral had flats in Mihulka.
