The city walls were established in Telč in relation to the development of Nového Města aroubd the middle of the 14th century and are visible in certain places today. On the southeast and even on the northeast and southwest side, the city walls were a double parkan wall. On the northwest, the city was protected by the fortifications of a medieval castle. The stone castle walls with a gallery, which was originally 9 m tall, also included rectangular loopholes.
