Branická skála - Dobeška
There is a beautiful view of Podolí and Barrandov from Branická skála, and you can also see Smíchov, Prague Castle with the historical part of the city, the centre and Vyšehrad. The small lookout tower on the cliff is the work of the architect and actor David Vávra, who built it in the forest park not far from his home stage - Divadlo Sklep in the “Na Dobešce” cultural centre. The forest park, a protected natural monument, is part of Braník in the city district of Prague 4. A bus operated by the Prague integrated transport system will take you to Dobeška from Budějovická metro station or the Dvorce tram stop.
Vyšehrad
Vyšehrad is a set of historical fortifications on the rocks over the right bank of the River Vltava which is linked with many myths and legends. Thanks to its accessibility from Metro line C, many people visit Vyšehrad. You can visit this location to relax, get to know some history, practice sports or attend social events. Parukářka
This large park in the centre of Prague is a popular place for people to come and have a rest from the bustle of the city. The park offers a beautiful view of the centre and a detailed view of the Žižkov Broadcasting Tower. The climbing wall here has become popular among fans of climbing and there is also a pleasant little pub and music bar in the park. The best way to get to Parukářka is by tram from Flóra or Hlavní nádraží.
Rieger Gardens
This is large park with an area of about 11 hectares located in the centre of Prague in the Vinohrady district. It is not far to here from Wenceslas Square, Náměstí míru, Žižkov or Vršovice. The extensive grassy areas in the heart of the city attract visitors to rest and relax. There is a children’s playground in the park, the TJ Bohemians sports stadium and the Sokol Vinohrady sports ground. In the direct vicinity of the well-known Zahrádky garden restaurant, is a view over Prague Castle and the Lesser Quarter. The former lookout tower, nicknamed “The Dairy”, has been renovated and nowadays serves as a cafe.
Prague Castle
A historically important location with many monuments, which King Charles IV had built. The gardens and rooms of Prague Castle offer breathtaking views over the capital. You can also visit the Toy Museum in Prague Castle, the grape harvest festival every year, the Shakespeare Festival or the “Prague Steps” cycle race. Prague public transport will take you there from Malostranská Metro station. Those who are not averse to a bit of movement can make their own way up there via the Old Castle Steps. There is a beautiful view over Prague from here too.
Letná Park
The hill, on which a monument to Stalin used to stand, lies north of the centre of Prague. A metronome now stands on the site of Stalin’s statue and there is an amazing view over the centre of the Prague from here. The nearby Technical Museum and Sparta football stadium are certainly worth a visit. The extensive Letná Park with children’s playground, cycle path and large public area for practicing sports is a popular location. You can get to Letná by tram from Vltavská Metro station or on foot via the steps from the Čech Bridge.
