The jewel of Kroměříž is the castle embedded in the green foliage of lovely gardens Květná and Podzámecká - the entire grounds are listed in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage. Another interesting sight is the historic center of the town, especially the Gothic Church of St. Maurice, the Piarist College with the high Baroque Church of St. John the Baptist, or the Baroque Parish Church of the Virgin Mary Assumption. Citizen's houses were built mainly during Renaissance and Baroque; the Renaissance town hall bears a tower of 40 meters. The center of the square is adored with the Baroque Marian Column.
