The historic center of the town and the chateau are included in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage. History of the town was significantly influenced by House Rosenberg, House Eggenberg, and House Schwarzenberg, which made it the center of their domains. That's why a number of valuable historical buildings mainly of Gothic and Renaissance styles survived, located over meanders of the Moldau river.
